The research examined the Impact of Freedom of Information Act (FOI) on investigative journalism practice, using journalists in Ibadan as a case study. It is of note that; investigative journalism has to do with investigating and reporting issues either crime or otherwise and this require the highest standard of accuracy. The study was anchored on Authoritarian and Social Responsibility Media Theories, while it used survey research method coupled with 250 copies of questionnaires that were administered to respondents who are practicing journalists in Oyo State, out which 240 copies were correctly filled and analyzed using frequency and percentage table method. Findings show that the codes and ethics of journalism practice as well as the freedom of information act has not been fully applied to active journalism practice in Nigeria. It was however recommended that the codes and ethics of journalism practice should be reviewed so as to meet up with current trends in Nigerian media industry.
