Smartphones usage is a common type of phones among students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It is on this thrust that the study examines perception of students towards the choice of smartphones in Nigeria. with a focus of University of Jos students. The research was anchored on Individual Difference Theory. The research used Survey research method with the questionnaire as data collection instrument. The data collected was analyzed using Descriptive Statistics (Frequency Statistics) method. Finding shows that students of University of Jos love smartphone that has internal memory, camera especially rear camera and fast in operation i.e speed O.S. among other functionality. It was recommended that advertisement should not deceive people in order to help students make appropriate choice.
