This research work examined the analyzing for the need for campus radio in Nigeria tertiary institution. The work critically analyzed the exact role of campus broadcasting to the mass media profession. Moreover, this project has been able to examine the operations and activities of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree which are all topmost stations among the campus stations in Nigeria. The research is hinged on the Development Media Theory and System theory. Survey method of research was employed, as the researcher purposively select his respondents from the chosen campus stations.100 questionnaires were administered to the respondents, out of which 100 copies were correctly filled and returned, this indicates response rate of 100%. However, findings revealed that the selected campus broadcast stations have positively affects their host environments in terms of news reports, but were subjected to persistent interference by the school authority. The research therefore recommended among others that campus broadcast stations should work in line with their purpose of establishment, mission and philosophy, and should also ensure strict adherence with journalistic reporting ethics towards avoiding interference and influence.
