The study adopted simple random sampling method to pick respondents from both TV stations. The main data collection instrument used was questionnaire while were analysed using frequency and percentage. There is no doubt about the fact that mass media especially the broadcasting houses are promoting women folk to ensure gender balance or equality in their contents yet only few results have been able to show. Findings shows that women issues are been promoted by mass media to some extent, although it is revealed that mass media still cover more male stories especially political coverage. It is recommended that the media employers should ensure gender equality during recruitment while female lecturers should be given chance in higher institution of learning to motivate more female undergraduates to choose journalism as a career.
