Abstract The study analyzing the increasing competition between news bloggers and traditional journalists in Nigeria. The emergence, proliferation and advancement in information and communication technology which has brought about social media, blogging and other digital platforms that have revolutionalised the practice of journalism not only in Nigeria but through the world. Abstract The aim of the research work is to assess audience awareness, accessibility and patronage of online news. Reading from online newspaper is on the increase as technology is more advanced to the extent that students can access news online using their personal computer, Smartphone, GPRS mobile phone, tablet computer and others.
